For those seeking a European adventure, the Greek island of Santorini comes highly recommended.

More of a sit-around-the-pool destination than an adventurous one, Santorini offers opulence,
sophistication and glamour in spades.
Thanks to its lofty perch, travellers to Santorini get to enjoy incredible panoramic views of the ocean,
as well as the most sublime sunsets imaginable.
Bora Bora

We could have filled our top five exclusively with French Polynesian islands, but topping the bill has to
be the gorgeous Bora Bora.
Another island crafted from volcanic rock, the colours of Bora Bora are incredibly eye-catching –
turquoise waters, pure white sand, kaleidoscopic fish – this is the island lover’s dream.
You can swim with sharks and rays, indulge in the local delicacies, or arrange a hike through the
forests, which feature one-of-a-kind species that you’re unable to see anywhere else.
Dalmatian Islands

No, not a destination populated by 101 spotted dogs (not anymore, at least), the Dalmatian Islands
are one of the jewels in Europe’s crown.
For the most part, they remain tourist-free – and yet the stunning beaches rival even the most tropical
